The only medical facility within fifty miles. It's small, but it works. They have some state of the art equipment thanks to a generous donation from an anonymous person.

Also doubles as a doctor's practise.

There are three separate boards within this board dedicated to elementary, middle and high school. There is no college in Last Chance, although you can take college level courses at night held in the high school.

The local vet doubles as an animal shelter, as well as offering their services as a cattery and kennel when you need your pets taken care of while you're away.

There is ample room for cats and dogs with cages inside and an outdoor run for the canines. There are also four horse boxes, three pens, and two small paddocks for larger animals. And a small aviary for birds.

The only place in town to fill up. Also double as the mechanics.

A fifties-style diner where you can enjoy classic music while seated in red leather booths surrounded by old posters. The floor even has the stereotypical black-and-white chequered pattern. Good food and good times assured!

Owned by Gerrard, the slightly-off playwright who couldn't make it in L.A. so returned home.

Doubles as a movie cinema. There is one large auditorium for plays and award ceremonies, and two smaller auditoriums for movie screenings.

The only motel in town. Decent, tidy, little rooms and a complimentary breakfast. Stay for as long as you need.

Cheesy name, yes, but this is the local pool. For just a $2 entry fee you can enjoy an Olympic-sized laned pool, a smaller swimming pool, two open-air hot tubs, a dive pool and a kiddie pool.

The showgrounds are where things happen. Anything from fundraisers, to carnivals, to animal shows occur here. There are places to park, pens for livestock, and a large building for indoor events.

The racetrack features a large turf course for flat and steeple racing, and a smaller inner dirt track for dirt runners and harness racing. The JC hosts Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse and Standardbred races.

This is where mares come to foal. It is secluded, and hidden by miles of thick scrub. It's a difficult journey, but one with a great reward.

Birrung Peak is the tallest hill in the ranges. The base of it is thickly wooded, but the faces are bare and open. The windswept tip is completely barren.
There is a large, deep, clear creek running around the base that rarely dries up.

Guriyal Hill is a small, densely wooded hill set deep into the ranges. It is nearly impossible to access without using a trail, which is great for defending, but a liability when it comes to escape.
There are a few clear pockets where a creek trickles through. The water pools become stagnant in summer, but rarely disappear.

The Meriki Caves are old mineshafts dug deep below the sunbaked hills. They've been abandoned since the silver ore ran out during the Second World War.
There is a natural underground lake which stretches beyond sight and is cool and crisp and clear, fed by an aquifer.
There is little natural light down here.

It's dark, musty, and I think something died in the backshelves a long time ago - but if you need books this is the place to go! The shelves tower overhead, crammed with every kind of magical book you could possibly want.

The livery is the place to go.

Snapped yer staff? Shattered yer sword? Gouged yer glaive? Damaged yer dagger? Annihilated yer armor? Chafed yer chainmail? Ye can fix it here or buy yerself a new 'un.

Sithren will shoe your horse for you. He also sells, buys and fixes harnesses and other tack.

Haggar is horrible, this much we know, but he makes a darn good cup of tea.
